              Pre-doctoral Psychology Intern (APA-Accredited) Neuropsychological Assessment

Provide neuropsychological assessment for inpatients and outpatients referred from psychiatric and medical units and serves both the mental health and medical units throughout the hospital. Provide neuropsychological consultation to physicians  regarding the psychological functioning of neurologically impaired patients.

Adult Inpatient Psychiatric Units

Provide therapy to a small caseload of patients including the coordination of patient care from admission to discharge. Facilitate and co-facilitate a variety of group interventions, short-term psychotherapy, and participation in community meetings, interdisciplinary team meetings, nursing rounds, unit staff meetings and case conferences.

The Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program

Observe and evaluate patients representing a wide range of diagnoses and the most severe states of decompensation. Make diagnostic determinations and disposition assessments under supervision. Provide brief, intensive crisis-focused psychotherapy for patients and families.

The Adult Outpatient Psychiatric Department

Provide weekly individual psychotherapy services to a caseload of approximately 4 patients with a range of Axis I and II disorders. Work closely with psychologists to provide initial evaluations and develop dispositions of patients to determine the best course of treatment and any necessary referrals.

Forensic Psychiatry Evaluation Service

Observe and assist in court ordered Competency to Stand Trial and Serve Sentence examinations. Perform psychodiagnostic assessments and assist in acquiring background information.
